Looks like everyone's pretty much thumbs down on these alleged actions. Nick Stevenson at the University of Nottingham in the UK has pondered whether or not celebrity has been utilized to take mass-marketing to super heights and in doing so has hypnotized most people into spending more time on celebrity and discussion around it rather than engaging in conversation about such things as globalization, the environment and more. We're not so sure that it has to be an either-or game. In fact, one could argue that through such comments as the below we are actually seeing the confirmation or reinforcement of certain values and standards even during changing times. One thing is certain, if the story is true, Michael would be turning over in his grave right about now.
It’s still not clear what is happening in the Jackson family but, according to reports, it looks like sibling rivalry. It started when Michael Jackson's mother Katherine was reported missing. Now, it looks like the trip was part of a plan by the Jackson siblings to undermine the agreement that made Katherine the children’s legal guardian. TMZ reports there was a scene at Katherine's house Monday afternoon, when "certain Jackson family members ambushed Katherine Jackson’s home," according to a statement from Katherine's attorney. The statement goes on to assert "that a plan has been in place for the last three years to remove Katherine Jackson from her home and her beloved grandchildren." What do Jackson fans have to say?
