Jennifer Aniston Says ‘Yes’ to Justin Theroux

Why do we care?  In fact, many people are learning about  and exploring the institutions and of marriage and family from a sociological perspective, as per very cool sociologist Karen Sternheimer who specializes in celebrity and culture.  She notes, as we have in other areas, that there is a great  shift and change taking place in how we view  marriage and family; and much of that shift is due to the changing notions of gender. Thus she concludes that  celeb stories and interest in engagements and the like reflect our anxieties about whether the traditional can work any longer.  In fact, it seems to be washing away just like everything else, and the values are explored across the comment-sphere.  Interesting, huh?

After a little over a year dating actor and writer Justin Theroux, Jennifer Aniston agreed to marry him when he asked her last week on his 41st birthday. Aniston, 43, and Theroux have known each other for a long time. They reportedly met while Theroux was writing “Tropic Thunder.” He is also a screen-writer for “Rock of Ages.” They started dating after working on the comedy “Wanderlust,” which they filmed in 2010. Fans are all a-buzz about the news.

What Others Are Saying...

… It really does seem that Jen finally found real love. They seem like a really good match. ... It makes me really happy to see her like this. …

They're happy at the expense of the ex-girlfriend who is probably depressed over this. … When Brad cheated on Jen the whole world was on her side, they still are. Jen must be content now, she has now played the role of the “other woman.”  … He's probably guilty too, he probably cheated on his ex with no guilt. … Justin's broke ass is just in it for the money and the sex. …

… It seems kind of media-manipulative to do this on this weekend when there was all this media speculation that Brad and Angie were getting married. … The timing of this announcement leaves that in doubt.
