Kourtney Kardashian Gives Birth to Baby Girl
What's in a name? Apparently everything when it comes to commenting on children of celebs. The issue here is not whether the parents are married but more the future of how the child will be treated with a (possibly) unsavory name. Interesting. It's almost as if to reinforce the importance of the individual - the name! - coming more and more to the forefront while so much that is tradition (i.e. marriage) is being re-evaluated, reformed and made to suit each couple's lifestyle. Important to note. But will we all have to actually watch Kourtney "push" again in the delivery room like last time? TMI, no?!?
Reality star Kourtney Kardashian,33, and boyfriend Scott Disick, 29, welcomed their daughter Penelope Scotland Disick. She was born early Sunday in Los Angeles hospital and weighs 7 pounds and 14 ounces. "Welcome to the world, Penelope Scotland Disick!" sister Kim Kardashian posted on her blog. She says can’t wait to spoil her baby niece. So far, though, the baby’s name seems to be the polarizing issue. Let's check in.
What Others Are Saying...
Congrats, Kourtney and Scott, wish you the best. Can’t wait to see little doll. … I am not fond of the name at all. I feel sorry for when she gets teased when she starts growing up. I hope Kourtney soon realizes how much Scott loves her and starts cutting the poor guy a break...I guess Kourtey is just a mom of the millenium, she wants kids without strings attached, since she can afford it...
What a precious name!! ( I wish Kim could follow her footsteps and have a baby with Kaye West.) … (The baby) will be called Peg Pen the rest of her life in school and teased. Why would you do that to a child? … I bet Kris is just furious the name didn’t start with a “K.”
I actually really like the name! I think she chose Scotland after Scott. It’s beautiful! … Not fond of the name Penelope at all but at least it’s a real name and not something stupid or made up. … They called her Penelope Scotland because her grandmother MJ (Kris’ mom) suggested it during the pregnancy, nothing to do with Scott. … I have nor ever will I be a fan of the name “Penelope.”
