So, isn't there some blaxploitation movie that shows a character taking a gun outta her afro and giving it to ya Foxy Brown style?  So is TSA assuming art imitates life?  And isn't that what the X-ray thing is for?  Well one thing is certain, this shows that celebs get treated like the regular public in this case too.  Funny though, notice how the comment-sphere is using the area to actually debate more about the convergence with race rather than just the loss of rights overall.  Are we actually more concerned then about particular discrimation than overall society?  Interesting question to ponder.  In the meantime, think the incident will inspire any of sister Beyonce's upcoming lyrics?  LOL

Transportation Security Administration obviously takes its job very seriously. They searched singer Solange Knowles' Afro at the airport in Miami. Knowles announced that via her Twitter account linking to an article about the same thing happening to a woman in Dallas. Knowles also tweeted "Discrim-FRO-nation." According to reports, Gabrielle Union has been through the same in February 2012 with her weave. This has got to be a lot of talk about this one!

What Others Are Saying...

The part that offends is the assumption that you can only hide stuff in 'fros. ... I admit I've found things in there that I was unaware of but Afros aren't the only hair-styles in which you can hide stuff. Do they undo top-knots as well? ... This only happened because she's black, ...

Solange never mentioned race or being pat down because she was wearing an afro. ... She made a joke of it ... so all you whites calm down

... I saw security checking a white lady with long locks wrapped up in a bun. ... It’s not always discrimination.
