same-sex marriage

Will this further divide a country that is already very much divided between legacy thinkers and hip, SmartPower thnkers; between haves and have nots? We are truly re-examining norms and traditionally held roles. But the real question may be: is the edgy populus leading policy makers or vice-versa, and what is the global impact. Have you decided who is really calling the shots as our new society forms?

President Obama tells ABC News that he supports same-sex marriage.  Everyone weighs in with thoughts.

What Others Are Saying...

Hispanic evangelicals are the quintessential swing voters...We're conservative on social issues and progressive on immigration, poverty and housing. So the question is, which will be the issue of the day.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. Who would have thought 25 years ago this would be an issue. If the immorality of gay "so-called" marriage is accepted, why would the liberals stop there?...

I am proud of President Obama for having the courage to support same sex marriage.  The Wednesday evening program presented comments by Hope Baptist Bishop Harry Jackson of Washington, DC. Bishop Jackson was right to point out that the battle for civil rights which African-Americans have waged for decades is nothing like the gay rights movement and clearly there is no comparison.   Gay people never had to sit at the back of the bus or experience refusal of service at a restaurant. However, WE, i.e. me and thousands of other gay folk have been physically attacked and beaten by homophobic thugs simply for walking down the street...Gay and lesbian people deserve the same rights as straight folk.
