Many in the comment-sphere blasting Armstrong though some still see the good he has also done with his name.  This is about values.  Funny though, that Nike stood by Kobe Bryant and Tiger Woods through their scandals.  Society is interesting in that some "bad" things are okay, something "bad" things are not okay, and it's not really okay at all unless you beg for forgiveness. While those in sit in judgment most likely have many of their own issues, if they are human at all.  Somehow airing it all out around the comment-water-cooler helps many people to reinforce standards simply because they are shared by others. Perhaps we will never know the actual truth about Armstrong or extent, but one thing is certain, will anyone really stop buying Nike sneakers because of Armstrong????

Former cyclist Lance Armstrong announced he was stepped down as a chairman of Livestrong cancer charity in order to not harm the mission of his cancer-fighting foundation. The decision is also in attempt to limit the damage from the doping scandal. Not shortly after Nike announces they terminated their contract with Armstrong accusing him of misleading the company. The reason -- Nike's opposition to performance-enhancing drugs. Armstrong was dropped by other companies as well. According to reports, the decisions are unrelated despite coming out on the same day. Armstrong announced on Aug. 23 that he would not fight USADA's charges. USADA banned him for life and stripped him of his seven titles in the Tour de France. Las week, the agency released more than 1,000 pages of evidence against Armstrong.  Lots of chatter on this one.

What Others Are Saying...

NIKE dropping Lance is like saying Lance and his organization ... and all the good that it is doing is not worth hanging their name on the notoriety associated with it. ... There are many others like myself who are "nobodies" ... who feel that it doesn't even matter whether they strip [Armstrong] of titles or not. What matters is that so much good has come from what you have done with your name! ...

I am certain there will be a follow up into his "charitable organization" ... The investigators from 3 years ago can come back hard ... to get the unfinished answers as to how they spend 70% of donations on "marketing"!

... It's about time the public accept that not all of our "heroes" play by the rules. He's a cheater and worse, a liar. Someday maybe he'll come clean and admit how he scammed an entire generation ... and ruined the integrity of the sport for decades. No one will not doubt all cyclists from now on. ...

Obviously not everyone is comfortable when celebs make unexpected moves.  If indeed celebrity is almost a living metaphor for class ascension as certain sociologists say, then it should not be surprising that the moves even my some celebs are not only questioned but often times thrown hurls of wishful suppression by those who are observing.  In this new era of shift of control, however, we are continuing to see people challenge norms and take new positions.  We're just surprised no one actually questioned how much Hov is getting for his new gig, though!

NBA 2K13 is the newest installment of the best-selling basketball video game franchise, and this year Jay-Z has offered input for the game’s interactive menus and other graphics, and has selected 24 songs for the soundtrack. Apparently, being a Grammy-winning rapper and minority owner of the Brooklyn Nets was not enough, and Jay-Z felt compelled to take part in this “unique opportunity” he mentioned in a statement. Last year’s game sold more than 5 million copies; will the game be as big of a slam-dunk as its counterpart? Let us dive into what fans and gamers are thinking prior to the October 2nd release date of Jay-Z making a contribution to the tech game.

What Others Are Saying...

Jay-Z is a HORRIBLE rapper…He's only wealthy and famous because he and Puff Daddy …are marketing geniuses…if his albums give any clue of what to expect from NBA 2k13, expect it to be an over-hyped, under-delivering mess. Just like the Brooklyn Nets.

Why are people hating on Jay-Z? Basketball has obviously been a part of hip-hop culture… I doubt it'll hurt the game…I’d rather have a Grammy award-winning artist select the soundtrack for my favorite game than a group of no-names…

Maybe I’m missing something huge but what does a B+ … musician know about sports or video games? …I’m a fan of Chinese food, that wouldn’t qualify me to be the Exec Producer of a takeaway restaurant simulator...
