Sour Grapes?  Maybe.  Maybe not.  The video clip from "Extra" seems just about viral.  But is the real take-away here just may be how much pre-hype is provided to the X-Factor brand from just a few sentences from Carey.  As we move further and deeper into the era of celebrity worship, will we value those more who through perceived "shade" on other celebs or not; and why is it just so much fun for us to comment on this kind of stuff during the workday, no less?  LOL

Britney Spears is selected as X-Factor judge over rumored celebs Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson.  When asked about the Spears pick, Carey is quoted to "Extra" as saying "I don't care" and going into diva mode.  It's the biggest celeb story of the day.  Why do we care?

What Others Are Saying...

if you dont care why put down the show in the first place? its usually a sign your pi$$ed off about it....

accusation of shade…waaay overblown. she was a little dismissive but i don’t blame her. the media uses every opportunity to hype britney by throwing her in the faces of artists with real talent....
