But is the real take-away here just may be how much pre-hype is provided to the X-Factor brand from just a few sentences from Carey. As we move further and deeper into the era of celebrity worship, will we value those more who through perceived "shade" on other celebs or not; and why is it just so much fun for us to comment on this kind of stuff during the workday, no less?
