When technology and celebrity collide...lol.  There's no middle ground here.  Either die-hard fans are into it or others are absolute thumbs down.  Here we see more concerns about response when celebs start to get into other realms.  Is it that many don't like it because they, themselves, feel so stifled during tough times or is it more about keeping things authentic and not saturated by celebrity.  We'll have to track this one to see.  Stay tuned...

Veteran rapper Snoop Lion (formerly known as Snoop Dogg) is already a legend in the music world, but now the ambitious 41-year-old is looking to take over the realm of video games. Way of the Dogg is the brainchild of the smooth Californian who based the feel of his game on the 1970's blaxploitation era that he loves so dearly. The game is described as a "rhythm-action combat" experience, and Snoop calls it "the first true gamification of his music". The game's release date is set for the end of this year, in conjunction with his new reggae-inspired album Reincarnated. It will be available on Xbox, Playstation, and Microsoft Entertainment systems. Public opinion on this one is what?

Sooo... this will probably wind up being the greatest game ever made!

...doesn't look very fun :(

I don't want egos like his raring their ugly faces in something totally unrelated in the first place. Not as bad as the box for NBA 2K13 though. What I could tell from it is Jay-Z is great, and there's possibly a basketball game included

Obviously not everyone is comfortable when celebs make unexpected moves.  If indeed celebrity is almost a living metaphor for class ascension as certain sociologists say, then it should not be surprising that the moves even my some celebs are not only questioned but often times thrown hurls of wishful suppression by those who are observing.  In this new era of shift of control, however, we are continuing to see people challenge norms and take new positions.  We're just surprised no one actually questioned how much Hov is getting for his new gig, though!

NBA 2K13 is the newest installment of the best-selling basketball video game franchise, and this year Jay-Z has offered input for the game’s interactive menus and other graphics, and has selected 24 songs for the soundtrack. Apparently, being a Grammy-winning rapper and minority owner of the Brooklyn Nets was not enough, and Jay-Z felt compelled to take part in this “unique opportunity” he mentioned in a statement. Last year’s game sold more than 5 million copies; will the game be as big of a slam-dunk as its counterpart? Let us dive into what fans and gamers are thinking prior to the October 2nd release date of Jay-Z making a contribution to the tech game.

What Others Are Saying...

Jay-Z is a HORRIBLE rapper…He's only wealthy and famous because he and Puff Daddy …are marketing geniuses…if his albums give any clue of what to expect from NBA 2k13, expect it to be an over-hyped, under-delivering mess. Just like the Brooklyn Nets.

Why are people hating on Jay-Z? Basketball has obviously been a part of hip-hop culture… I doubt it'll hurt the game…I’d rather have a Grammy award-winning artist select the soundtrack for my favorite game than a group of no-names…

Maybe I’m missing something huge but what does a B+ … musician know about sports or video games? …I’m a fan of Chinese food, that wouldn’t qualify me to be the Exec Producer of a takeaway restaurant simulator...
