Square, Starbucks Team Up
Wow. Once again the media is hyped about something which it seems most who read are not. There seems to be apprehension about technology advances in the air this week. First Steve Wozniak voices fears about the future of so much data being in the "cloud" and now this on Square. Haters or realists? Only time will tell. But one thing is certain, going forward the smart money just might be on companies that obtain greater insight before making moves since we are now in the throws of a bottom up society and its about the consumer - now seeing him/herself more and more as a self-determinant individual - who is the driver's seat. 'Nuff said.
The mobile payments start-up Square is pairing up with the ubiquitous coffee company Starbucks. Coming this Fall, Square will begin processing all credit and debit card transactions at Starbucks stores in the United States. This development is forecast to later evolve into customers being able to charge whatever they buy at Starbucks to their credit card just by saying their names through GPS technology. It's all over the tech news. What do commenters think?
